Hazebrouck

France
Mentioned: 1916, 1918
Transit / Journey

A French town near the Belgian border, used as a transit point and, in July 1916, a hospital location. A vital rail junction supplying the whole northern part of the British line, and one of the German Spring Offensive's key objectives during the Battle of the Lys, April 1918: its loss would have been a serious blow, but the German push stalled short of it.
