Maternal uncle and aunt, Streatham, London
Mentioned: 1915, 1916
Family & home

Walter Alfred Allen (1849–1931) and his wife, Jane (née Withers). "Uncle" is the older brother of Robertson's mother, Alice Mary Allen, a draper on the Isle of Wight who emigrated to Winnipeg with his family in 1889 and returned to England in 1910, settling in Streatham, London, where he worked as a representative for a Canadian railway. Their home becomes Robertson's regular base whenever he's on leave in the city. Walter is the "W. A. Allen" who proposed Robertson for initiation into Freemasonry at the Streatham Hill Lodge in February 1917 (his son Charley seconding) and the "Mr. W. A. Allen of Streatham Hill" billed by Faudel's that December for the Christmas crackers shipped out to Robertson's company.
