Comrades in the field

A friend who turns up in passing across three years of the diary: spotted near Bécourt Wood in 1916, seen again at Château La Haie in July 1917 while both are waiting (unsuccessfully) to catch a glimpse of the King, missing a train to Camiers later that year and spending the afternoon instead, and met again at the 4th Divisional Club in February 1918 while Robertson is passing through on leave. Nothing beyond these brief encounters is recorded about him.
