Bowles

N.C.O. (probable)
Mentioned: 1917 only
Other ranks

Very likely the same "C.S.M. Bowles" who received the Distinguished Conduct Medal in the New Year's Honours Robertson records on January 4, 1917, reported dead of wounds on November 16 that same year ("I hope it is a mistake"), with the report confirmed two days later. No first name is given in either mention, so the identification isn't certain, but the surname, period, and rough seniority (a Company Sergeant Major) all line up.
