Letter 17 of 18 Doris Robertson
France, Summer 1918 (undated)
Dear Doris,
Just a line to let you know I got your letter of June 29 O.K. – and will answer it at first opp. –
Please excuse this scribble but I am writing in bed with my right hand all done up in iodine and lint. – No I haven't gone and got wounded again, just got pitched off my motor-cycle and these french roads are jolly hard. – No real dam – excuse me a moment, a big hot chunk of cigarette ash just rolled down my neck – smoking in bed is no bon. – As I was saying no real damage done. – Just a few bruises and some skin missing but will be ok in a day or two and will write you then.
Cheerio,
Murray
