Buissy

Pas-de-Calais, France
Mentioned: 1918
Vimy / Artois Sector

A farming village in the Pas-de-Calais on the west side of the Canal du Nord, about 24 km south-east of Arras. On September 27, 1918, the day the Canadian Corps attacked across the canal towards Bourlon Wood, the wagons in Robertson's convoy, carrying the material for the F and G bridges and the infantry footbridges, were held here until the far bank had been cleared. This is from the unit's September 1918 war diary (Appendix II), which he wrote and signed.
