Worsley

Officer, Gouy yard
Mentioned: 1917 only
Comrades in the field

Introduced August 3, 1917 as the officer Robertson runs the yard for at Gouy while "the boss" takes the rest of the company to Mt. St. Eloi. Their first real meeting two days later leaves a lukewarm impression ("Maybe O.K. but don't think we should ever be bosom friends"), and he pays a couple more visits to the yard through late August and into September. Spelled "Worsley" most of the time and, once, "Worsely": treated here as the same person.
