Squibb / Squib (likely Hazel)
Working identification: Hazel, Robertson's girlfriend, under a private pet name
Mentioned: 1915, 1916, 1917
Family & home Not stated outright anywhere in the diary, but reasonably well supported: "Squibb"/"Squib" runs alongside "Hazel" from March 1915 through at least February 1917, tracking the same pattern of letters and parcels rather than reading as a separate correspondent. The clearest overlap is a Feb. 7, 1917 entry wondering "if there really was any possible chance of Squib being over," barely a month after Hazel's own Jan. 4, 1917 letter raising the same idea, of coming to England for his next leave. Treated here as the working identification rather than a certainty.
